There are not enough adjectives to describe the Breast Care Team at Queens, they are almost beyond words. From the first mammogram, subsequent biopsy and consultations with Mrs Williams-Jones and Mrs Carmichael and treatment it has been faultless. Every step of the way was discussed with me, and options were offered as to my treatment. On the day of my operation I was truly terrified, until I went onto the ward, where once again, the team were exemplary, everything explained to me in detail. Who would have thought that once in theatre I would be laughing (and not because of the drugs) ; Mrs Carmichael and her team were so kind, relaxed and their confidence in what they were doing was so reassuring. Since diagnoses 6 weeks ago it has been a roller coaster of emotions and everyone of those emotions has been understood by the team and I have been treated as if I was their only patient. Mrs Carmichael's attributes are everything you could wish for; humble, inspiring, kind and a truly gifted lady.

My whole experience with the Breast Clinic including Mrs Amtul Carmichael and all nursing care was exemplary from initial appointment through to minor op and follow up on telephone after the same through to final appointment.

Mrs Carmichael is an amazing person. She helped me through the worst time of my life. I found out that I carried the brca2 gene and was informed that I had a 90% chance of developing breast cancer so was sent for both a mammogram and was made an appointment to see Mrs Carmichael to see about options for preventative breast cancer surgery. Unfortunately my mammogram showed that I already developed breast cancer. I had to go down the chemo route and also opted for a double mastectomy to give me the best chance of the cancer not returning again. Mrs Carmichael was so thorough, supportive, empathetic and one of the kindest people I have ever met. She showed me all the different surgery options available to me, she was open and honest about all of them - telling me both the good and bad points for each option. I never felt rushed in any of my appointments, she just made me feel that I could totally put all my trust in her capabilities and she proved that to be the case. I'm now 3 years down the line - the cancer gone and all surgery completed to great satisfaction. Mrs Carmichael I will never forget your kindness.

I have had now had 2 operations performed by Mrs Carmichael and her team. Time and care was taken to ensure these were both successful. I have appreciated her care and understanding. I am now able to look forward to the next steps in my treatment and a brighter future. Many Thanks
